​H. H. Barlow III, a life-long dairy farmer from Barren County, has been selected to lead the Kentucky Dairy Development Council (KDDC) as the new Executive Director as of May 1, 2019. He follows Maury Cox, who retired at the end of February after holding the position for the past 10 years. H. and his wife Kathy, own and operate Barlu Dairy in Cave City. They are currently milking 120 Jerseys. They have four adult children - Gini Lin, Brad, JP and Josh. They also have 14 grandchildren.  They are members of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Glasgow.
Mr. Barlow graduated from the University of Kentucky and has worked for 34 years in feed sales in addition to his dairy farm.  He is a past board member for the KY Agricultural Development Board; he served on the KY Agricultural Council; he was chosen to serve on the U.S. Board for International Food & Agricultural Development; he was the chair of the founding committee for the KDDC and served on the KDDC board six years; he served on the Lone Star Milk Cooperative board of directors for 11 years; and he served on the ADA of KY/SUDIA board for 11 years.
When asked why he wanted to become the KDDC Executive Director, H. stated that he is very passionate about the dairy industry, always has been. He plans to work with the of four KDDC dairy consultants to help improve the profitability and sustainability of Kentucky’s dairy farm families. He fully understands the challenges that dairy farmers are facing, but he is very hopeful for future improved conditions within the industry. He plans to work closely with Kentucky’s dairy farmers, Governor’s Office of Ag Policy, KY Dept of Agriculture and all allied industry relating to dairy. He feels that teamwork and networking will be a key part of the job as he moves forward in this new position and is looking forward to working with all of Kentucky’s dairy industry.

Dave  is the KDDC Dairy Consultant for the Western milk shed. Roberts lives in Livingston County.  He was co-owner and manager of a 500-herd Registered Holstein dairy, which was sold in 2002.  Dave has been on the Livingston County Farm Bureau Board for 15 years and has served six years as President.  He graduated from Murray State University with a degree in General Agriculture.

Beth is the Central Kentucky Dairy Consultant. She comes to KDDC with a great deal of dairy knowledge and experience. Beth was reared on her parents 500 cow Holstein dairy farm, Coleman Crest Dairy, in Marion County, KY. She has been involved in most aspects of the dairy and was the Herd Manager for the past four years. Beth received her B. S. in Agriculture Economics and Business from the University of KY. Beth and her husband Nathan, reside in Taylor County where they are involved in grain and tobacco farming along with beef cows. They have 2 children and enjoys showing cattle and tractor pulling with family.

Jennifer is a lifelong dairy farmer. She resides in Fleming County and has an Organic dairy. Jennifer brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to KDDC, having graduated with a B. S. in Agriculture from Morehead State University in the Agri-Business Program. She is very active in her community by serving as the 4-H Council leader and on the Fleming County Cooperative Extension Council, Progressive Ag. Safety Committee. She is a member of the Kentucky Holstein Cattle Club and serves at the certified 4-H dairy leader for the local club. Jennifer also operates a small organic dairy herd of with her father, James Adams. She enjoys participating at dairy shows with her five children.

Tori grew up on a small dairy farm in central Kentucky and continued her experience in the industry at Eastern Kentucky University. While there, she milked on the university farm and received her B.S. in Animal Science. She continued her education at the University of Tennessee and received her M.S. in Animal Science with a concentration on dairy health and welfare. Tori resides in Grayson County where she raises a herd of Charolais cattle with her husband and son.
